Racial Literacy, Christianity, and History

On February 11, 2024 Dr. LaGarrett King presented at UUEA. He is an award-winning Professor of Black History Education at the University at Buffalo. He is also the Founding Director of the Center for K-12 Black History and Racial Literacy Education. Dr. King shared with us a side project he’s been interested in since he was a child. He wondered how his mother’s deep religious beliefs of God’s love for all could square with the racism he saw with his own eyes. He goes far back in history to present where he believes racism began.

Speaker introduction and presentation starts at the 14:52 mark of the video
